just recently bought a new levin zr with nearly 1000 kms approaching. i noticed the service sticker states a 1000 km service. reading the service manual, the first service is at 10000kms. maybe this 1000 km service is just a complimentary inspection.

anybody have any thoughts on this. plus what oil would you use for the next service.

I've wondered about this. It always used to be that you did a 1000K service to drop the running in oil and all the associated tight engine shavings out of the motor. I suppose they spin them up in the factory until they are run in, or is it now completely unnecessary with coated bores etc?
