......... hmmmmmmm now they can track us via GPS, and one would assume, how fast you are traveling, hey presto, ADHOC self infringement notice for speeding. Excellent revenue maker.

......... hmmmmmmm now they can track us via GPS, and monitor what ever you do or go via a motorised vehicle, big brother, or just another form of control from the government.

......... hmmmmmmm why don't they just "fix the roads" and "public transport", oh oh that whats this new tax is for, then what is the fuel excise paying? Wasn't that the original terms of reference?

......... hmmmmmmm no thanks to this TAX.

Quote "There will be no road congestion tax, no change to the GST, no change to capital gains, negative gearing or share taxation and no changes to petrol taxes." Bonus - NO ETS! Now this government is starting to understand, and to WAKE UP! ....and the public.

The pay per kilometer system will favour lager vehicles, such as v8s. The average person does 15,000km/year which ends up being $1200 in tax at 8c/km. Rego for a 4 banger in QLD is about $650, and licence costs re about $10/year. Not sure how they will convince people to pay double. And it'll be worse for the Victorians, because don't you guys pay like $300/year for rego?

$650 cheaper if u got a health care card ($589 or something)

Even if they remove the fuel excise it will still favour less efficient engines. It is poorly thought out in my opinion and won't be implemented in it's current form at least.
