I've done a bit of reading with the 5age engines in ae112r's that you can use 4age pistons / cranks and heads for a decent 5agze kind of build.

My question is has anyone here done anything similar with a 5age/7age and what parts were needed. do they use the same crank etc ?

Am very interested in building a decent 150+kw engine for the 2001 sportivo with a fresher turbo and then ripping out the old 5age completely for the refit when the new one is ready.

any info would help greatly ;)

it's not too hard to make a hell of a lot more than 150kw atw. Forget anything to do with a 5A or 4A engine.

Start with your original 7A block and stock crank, add some H Beam rods from Spool or Belfab, either a 16V or 20V GE head, forged pistons, injectors, custom turbo manifold, GT28RS, ARP head studs, main studs and flywheel bolts, aftermarket ECU and adjustable cam gears. If you go with a 20V head and quads you'll also need a custom plenum, if you go with a 16V head then you can use its matching FWD corolla intake manifold. $8-10K should cover it.
