1997 Corolla - Heater doesn't work

Hi

Fan and vents are fine

A/C works fine

Turn heater on - no immediate heat

Drive car for ages, temp gauge reaches normal - still no heat

Sustain driving at about 70kmh for say 30 seconds and you'll get heat, but get stuck in traffic again and heat is gone

If you can't get over 60kmh no heat

What can be the problem?

Matt i had a similar problem(heater issue) with my Paseo but the only diff was the temp gauge didnt go higher to the middle position (halfway mark).It always stayed closer to Cold. I changed my Thermostat and the problem was gone $16 later ..

I'm not sure if there is a problem with your heater core but i have heard ppl have had to replace those as well before .

If you temp gauge goes to half way mark between Hot/Cold then it wont be your thermostat ..

Hey mate, my mother owns a holden commodore she just had her heater stop working one day, apparently theres just a tube that fell off.

exact same thing happened to my boss's ford transit?

so it's apparently a vacuum tube or something no idea correct name but yeah take it to local mechanic and that might be all it is? get away for $0 lol he wouldn't even charge you just ask him on the spot, he'll look at it and tell you?
