how did you check the thermostat? also have you done a coolant system flush?

Is your head/gasket not cracked or blown?

Fans being on when cold and turning off when hot doesn't sound right at all, either the switch is wired in incorrectly or is busted itself.

yeah my thoughts excatly that is why i was wondering for a wiring diagram for fans

the relay switch works fine already checked it so all i can think is wiring

pulled thermostat out and it was cut so watter would flow freely past

havent presure flushes the system yet but found another discovery

the engine coolant drain plug was clogged up with what looks to be metal and dirt and no water came out so i believe they have used something like kemmy weld or something to stop a leak

and has clogged up some water gallerys

considering to pull of the head motor look like it may have been rebuilt already just going to flush it and see what comes out

still need wiring diagram for theormo fans

no smoke no milk shakes anywhere so i dont know if the head gasket is cracked or blown as of yet

thanks guys for your help and ideas

removed or modified thermostats are usually a sign of some idiots attempt to solve a problem

removing the foot valve off the thermostat means about 20% of the water never goes thru the rad, but jsut goes round in circles in the engine

the fans only need to work when the gauge just over 'normal" . they are wired so they are "on" unless the sensor says its cold. that way they are fail-to-safe

overheating when idling/low revs is often a blockage

overheating only when driving is is often radiator based

overheating constantly is usually blown head gasket. other sign is moisture/milkiness under the oil filler cap. easy to test for this
