Aurion Master Key & customising parameters

Recommended Posts

After checking the (very) early posts on duplicating master keys, I decided to head off to our local dealer. I purchased the car off them with only one master key. All attempts by them to contact the previous owner and get the second master from him/her failed. So someone (probably now on Ebay) has a master key to my car. If I lost the one master key, getting a new set would be a very expensive exercise.

I also particularly wanted to have the central locking activate when the vehicle reached 20km/h, and half heartedly wanted the two stage remote unlock and the auto lock delay adjusted to 30 seconds.

Seeing they had to use the intelligent tester on them all I decided to do them all at once.

I have just picked up the car and a new master key, two stage locking and auto lock delay adjusted to 30 seconds, a note to say that Australian cars do not have the auto locking option and a bill for $222.40. I was told the account had been reducted because of the misunderstanding about the central locking option (and -$8 from driver's club membership)

Are oz vehicles set up with a specialised computer different from other countries? The central locking feature has been available for years in Europe on other vehicles I have driven. I'm stoked with the car, p..sd with the dealer.

That pretty much confirms what we have all been saying in the thread:

Doors auto lock

In general:

Would it be harder on the Aurion, because he put in a completely new locking system & motors for this remote locking or would you be able to some how wire up the existing central locking of the Aurions to lock doors when the brake is pressed and to automatically unlock when the ignition of turned off?

Personally I think the feature is a little pointless, but I guess I'm not worried about car jacking or anything like that. Anyways, I hear that the features below are not available on the Aus spec Aurion/Gen 6 Camry, but the Gen 6 Camry in the States which is just about the same in internal gizmos has the following. Maybe you could plan on sourcing a Body ECU for the Gen 6 V6 from the States. That said, only the Intelligent Tester can modify these settings:

You know there is a thread on this BTW?

Acording to dannywss there, he mentioned something about paying $200 for an aftermarket module that does the auto lock thing.

Thanks Daryl.

I went in armed with that print out. I dont see the value of adding another system.

Cheers Tom
