Installing HKS Super Power Air Pod

Hi Guys,

Is there any need for the Stock air filter to remain if i install a HKS Pod??

Can the stock filter just be taken out all together? or can the factory air box be eliminated.. They Just cause so much restriction to the potential amount of air intake!

You will need to keep (or get a new) the stock MAF mount. however you can remove the stock airbox.

You can probaly find a premaid CAI on ebay, or get one made up for you.

Unifilter used to make a pod kit which allowed the maf to be relocated.

I rang unifilter.. bastards dont do them anymore.. MAF are ultra sensitive and unless positioned correctly according to volume of air passing through, car wont run

Yes, you need to keep the maf in the same diameter tube as it was from the factory otherwise the airflow calcs are out.

I was told as much as 1mm out of positioning can affect the function of the meter ?

As long as the diameter of the pipe is the same, and the penetration of the maf into the pipe is the same, and that the maf is no closer than about 100mm to the throttle body, it won't cause any problems.
