2001 Corolla radio R/R

Recommended Posts

I'm trying to work out how to remove the radio/tape deck/clock from the shroud on top of the dash. This is the 5 door Seca Oz model. Unit is contained in a shroud mounted on top of dash. It is three in one and not like any US style where it is mounted lower down in dash. It is also double the height of the usual radio.

Can anyone help me please?

Remove the centre dash vents and look up, you'll see two 10mm bolts, undo those and pull the radio surround out from the dash :)

Thanks Rolla Boy

Tried that, but no sign of 10mm bolts. There was a couple of clips which I removed to no avail, except that the shroud gained a little movement, but not enough.

This is a 3/2001 AE112R model.

Does anyone else have any suggestions?

Finally I got it! I misunderstood what Ben said. I was looking directly up instead of looking forward and a little up, but finally I saw the bolts, so thank you Ben and Dwee

PS On hooking up the harness to the new stereo, I found there were Two Green wires, one of a lighter guage than all the others. I took a punt and left this one out as I surmised it was probably for a power aerial and everything else worked, so I presume I guessed correctly. Just thought I'd pass that on for future reference
