Hey all,

Been a while since been on this forums! Missing all the updates!!

I have a n issue with my Aurion ZR6 pre 09 update model... got the 2nd service done... purchased the car at 12000km.

in the last month or so after i did the 2nd service to the car( 26k) i have noticed that in auto the gear box after 2nd gear cant keep on a constant gear when driving...

didnt have these issues prior to the service...

Im driving at 60-65km @ 1600-2000rpm and the gear would stay at 4-5th gear at most on long street stretches... is i am going down a long slight hill i would notice the gear changes and the 'roll' is more smoother without the usual slowdown on the 4th gear...its more like downshifting from 6th gear to 4th gear and the speed slows down over the 300 meter stretch...

The other issue is that if driving at 70km and the gear is at 5th or 6th gear and i place the accelerator down it wont change gears ( speed goes up very slowely) till i accelerate all the way then it will down shift...

these issues started to occur a week after the service and wasn't sure what the issue was until my mate drove it ( he has the stock aurion) and agreed on these issues ...

have other aurion drivers experienced this? i did drive it in 'sports' mode for 1 week to see what it was about and reverted back to auto..

my driving habits are - shift in neutral at lights ( shift to D - i feel a ***** in the transmission and then slowly take off) - reached to 5000rpm maybe 8-9 times during a Melbourne visit...

Cheers guys!

even with my new transmission I find that it "HUNTS" between 5th and 6th at around the 80km/h mark, it does worry me that when it goes into 6th its a very sluggish change.

I got my rebuilt transmission back one week ago, totally awesome now. Like a brand new car. Heres to a long life ;-)

Lets hope so. what was the diagnosis on your box?

does the auto flare at all ?. if it is cold and under light accel between 3 - 4th can a flaring be felt or the engine revs seen to increase on the tach.

keep in mind these autos are adaptive. they learn your driving style. if the missus drives it like "miss daisey" the you get in and give it curry it will take a while to "learn" hence the feel of not knowing what gear its in.

What service did you get done , a 30k ?.. oil and filter and brake fluid.. nothing should have been done to the auto- unless the battery was disconected ?

i had an auto ecu replacement in 2009 and i was one of the first to run this , i have guys from toyota technical use my car as a guinea pig to see how the new ecu was working.i was told to drive it for 300-500klms until i gave any answers

i can make my auto fell like its playing up. just accelerate down a hill back off and let it coast then give a small throttle percentage and it doesn't know what to do , this is a characteristic of this adaptive auto with drive by wire .

cheers Tim

p.s. on a cheeky note.. the famous old line heard. it never did that before the service. we changed the oil and now the tail light globe is blown ??:whistling:

i have a few issues noticed with my auto.

if driving over 50km and remove my foot from gas i feel like its pulling me back

if i release of the petrol to go around a sholder or bend once i put my foot back down (somtimes) it feel like i dosent even know what gear to go into it completely lags....

if i coming to a complete stop i see and feel the cars revs go up as its gearing i have drove many cars and never dorve a cars auto like this

are these issues normal...

i bought this car from melbourne city toyota came with 3 month or 5,000km warrantie if its a issue id rather get to it befor it runs out.....

cheers

I can help you there. When mine blew up it cost 10k for a new one fitted or 7k to rebuild.
