widest tyre size

Hi guys, having trouble trying to find the widest tyre to fit the ATX on 18in rims.

Was thinking of running 245/40-18'S.

Do you think I would run into scrubbing issues.

The suspension is standard plus UR sway bar and front brace.

Any relevant help appreciated.

If the offset of the wheels is 45+ you'll be fine,

I had the same tyres on a 35+offset and would only scrub on big bumps

1) The TRD has 245 wide tires and experiences no scrubbing.

2) Others here run that same width and have no issues caused purely by the width of the tire.

3) It's not just the width of the tire that you need to look at. The width of the wheel plays and important part as well, together with the offset of the wheel.

4) You should try to match a suitable width tire to the rim width. Depending on how wide they are, 235 may be more suitable.*

5) Wider tires do not always translate to more grip.

* A 245/40R18 tire is best suited for a wheel width of 8-9.5 inches. If your wheel is narrower than 8 inches, a 235/45R18 tire would be better suited. In addition to that, it would affect your speedo less than the 245 tire.
