Hey wiseguy!

I got quoted roughly $260 for a 2008 Corolla remote/key cut and programed from Western Toyota Guildford www.westerntoyota.com.au

Alterntively I got a quote for around the same price from PRV Locksmiths www.prvlocksmiths.com.au

Not sure if the 2011 Corolla's have the same key as the 2008 but it's worth a try to save yourself $160!

Hope that helps?!

Cheers,

Nick

just an update and for future reference

i finally found a locksmith who could copy 2009+ keys.

Perfect Locksmiths

131 cabramatta rd,

Cabramatta

Tel: 9728 4222

www.perfectlocksmiths.com.au

$120 for 2009+ keys. should have a "G" ingrained onto the original masterkey

$85 for 2003-2008 models.

none of these have the remote buttons though.

Those are around $400 mark.

you may be able to purchase a $60 remote from toyota though.

i think from memory these keys are 360 plus coding, if you can supply me your car, an original key that the blade

is not worn down too bad i can do it for less than any other dealer will give it to you and i will do free coding as

i know all the secrets to programming these. preferably on a weekend as it is quieter

btw i work for noble toyota chullora as a parts interperator

couple of things to note about 09/09 "g" system toyotas,

you need a working master key to enroll new keys, no master key start saving, toyota will charge prohibitively, (have heard of $4200.00 for a 2010 corolla to get it started) . to remove the dash and replace on some models i think 3 computers. only one different is a yaris, although i havent done one, you can get to the required connector via the passenger saftey balloon removal.

and these keys cannot be cloned yet. so hang on to your keys.

i supply cut and code "g" keys for $95.00, as long as there is a working master.

easy way to tell if you have a master,

insert key into ignition, if security light goes out immediately its a master, if it stays on for around 2 seconds then goes out its a valet key, "g" valets are useless.

these rules apply to some pre 09/09 toyotas as well.

bottom line, if you only have one master key, find someone to make a couple of spares.

hope this helps.
