OBD protocoll

I have check breaking system light on for a while (PRADO 2003 grande 4L petrol).

Reading the code in one garage told me that I have break switch correlation problem.

I checked the break switch and it is working okay (both pairs of connectors).

Now I want to reset the DTC and try, but I really cannot afford 120 bux for each and every scanning at the mechanic.

I want to check things myself, but cannot find a cheap scanning tool which would read my car.

It does not seem to comply with the standard UBD2 protocols.

Anyone has a scanner I can borrow or know where I can buy a USB cable to use my PC to diagnose DTC?

Cheers,

Val
