To those who bought their car new, do you guys wait for your car warranty to expire or have you already modded it? Either way, what's your reason?

depends on what u are doing to it. as long as your not messing with the internals. throwing on a cai or exhaust isnt going to void ur warranty. just have to make sure that the part is made for the car and u should be ok.

a CAI or Exhaust will just make engine-related warranty claims more difficult

well speaking from a members point of view:

he got CEL after installing his CAI. he went to toyota and they changed his extractors over to new ones. still didnt fix the problem though... i'm not sure if he had a difficult time getting them to do that though. since he changed to a 3A racing pod, his CEL turned off and never went on again.

not sure of "engine related problems" involves the exhaust system...

Best bet is to talk to the dealer and confirm if any mods will void warranty.

From experience, dealers these days will tend to void warranty if anything looks tampered with (well at least Ford).
