Hi All,

I'm new to the forum and I'm not sure if this is the right section to post a technical question.

Anyway, I own a Camry 2002 Advantage. I have an issue with my hand brake light on my dash. It comes on when the hand brake has been disengaged.

Is this to do with the wiring? The handbrake is definitely off.

What can I do?

If some one could shed some light on this it would be much appreciated.

Kind Regards

Oliver

So are you saying it comes on with the handbrake is off and turns off when the handbrake is on? Or is it on all the time? Someone played with the switch recently?

check the level of brake fluid in the reservior. They share the same warning light.if the level is low, the light will stay on

The light is on all the time regardless if the hand brake is on or off. Could something be effecting the wire connection?

I will double check the level, but I am pretty sure the level is fine as I check these often.

If the brake fluid level is full, then shake the reservoir around and slap its sides to try and shake the sensor inside it... Happens a lot, the sensor gets sticky and doesn't come up to the top of the fluid level...

thats true, that happened to corolla I was doing some work on once, the fluid got low, I topped it up and the light was still on. Gave it a shake and it was all good
