Greetings,

I have been trying to remove th rear bumper as I have some LED lights for the old reflectors.

I spent most of Saturday trying to get it off and for the life of me couldnt figure it out!

Thought I would stop before I broke something.

Can anyone offer some advise please ?

Cheers,

Ralf..

I don't know the exact location of all the clips but most of the time on toyota's there will be a screw going up into the body where the bumper and the body meet at the wheelarch (the inner guard liner may need . Then there will most likely be a plastic clip (pop the centre of the clip out with a flat screwdriver and remove the clip) at the bottom front of the bar and similar clips running along the bottom back of the bar. There also may be some at the top when you open the rear tailgate. Then the bar will be attached via a clip in system which just requires a good yank in the right spot. Unfortunately it's a bit of a "try it and see" type job till you've figured out exactly where everything is. Sometimes you have to give a bit of a lift or a wiggle to find out where that last hidden clip is.

By the way, removing reflectors and fitting non ADR approved lights in their place may cause your vehicle to fail a roadworthy inspection or cause you to end up with a defect notice if the brightness of the light isn't right.
