Hi all,

just thought I'd say a quick hello. Have been a member for awhile and picked up some great tips and tricks from the posts. Some really good reads and great rides throughout. Thought I might be a bit more interactive and share my ride seeing there seems to be some great people in here.

I currently have an 07 Aurion Sportivo and purchased it a few years ago. I've had a couple of cars throughout my time and am surprisingly really happy with the Aurion. I say this only because i bought it as my "old mans family car" and didn’t think I would have it for that long or would buy something else for me to run around in. Dont worry, Im only 31 but have 2 little terrors and we sold a 1 series BMW and were looking for something bigger.

The toss up was between a Common-dore SV6 and the Sportivo and I must say I am extremely happy with the decision. Great drive and I highly recommend them for anyone that’s considering.

Im really surprised on the power available from standard and have done some minor “adjustments” over time. Considering a few more options, but who knows what will happen.

Current – 20’s,lowered, K&N replacement filter plus a couple of addons inside

Future – 10 or 15inch roof mounted DVD, darker Tint, maybe Varex exhaust, new kit, bonnet modifications, rear view camera, mini pivot shift light, Fixed mount for an iPad.

Anyway, thanks again for reading and keep up the great forum

Welcome mate...

Love your mods so far... If I may suggest, add white wall on your tyres, they will come out nice in contrast.

Maybe not my place to say it, but please be careful with the bonnet mods.. Not happy with the available ones out there.. :whistling:

Hey VF-X, Dude, your car looked soo nice with old rims....sorry to bring it up, just read your posts. The ride height looks perfect. Whats modified on the front bar? Looks so good. Where did you get the eyelids from?

Yeah, not 100% on the bonnet mods yet but air bags would be pretty sweet. How do you find the Varex mufflers?

Totally changed the front bottom bit, only minor difference thou. And the eye lids got it from Thailand.

The pic u have is ZR6XY's, and yes with airbags. U can ask him for more details.

Few numbers here are on Varex. It sounds pretty sweet. I believe there are more than a clip in youtube.

      3rd Gen (XU50) Kluger new aftermarket radio install

      Hi all, Finally got around to modifying the fascia kit. Not super happy about it - basically a hugely overpriced piece of plastic for what I thought would've been designed for RHD and is literally the cheaper brand I was going to originally buy (for LHD Highlander), might as well have bought it from Amazon or the like. The fit is off in relevance to the centre air vents. I might try a MkII version and modify a factory radio fascia if it really gets to me. I digress... Let's start with removal of the screen from the head unit. I love that this Pioneer radio has a separable screen for custom installations. Here is the Aerpro fascia after trimming. I should've just bought the Metra version if I knew that they were the same. The part behind the fascia kit is a bezel that I designed and printed to suit. I also ended up rerouting the microphone next to the clock as I couldn't find a solution to make the factory microphone play nice with the aftermarket radio - I trimmed away the mounting lug & drilled a hole to suit in the trim bezel, so far it's the only original Toyota part that needed to be modified, still holds securely and the mic is tucked away as much as possible. No negative difference in call quality so far either. There is still much clean up to do but was keen to see how it looks like fitted so please excuse all the epoxy. Hopefully I will get it finished soon; it should look close to OEM as possible when I'm finished. Next will be to install an amplifier I have lying around, new speakers and subwoofer and finally have a stereo with some form of depth and quality.

      Not ideal where you are but I would ry a couple of things: Either disconnect the batteries (both) and leave for a good 10 mins - enough time for all electrics to discharge.. Another one which worked for me was to disconnect the ECU - big plug on the passenger side firewall. Same thing, allow for electrics/electronics to discharge. Not practical for you at this stage but if you can get a Scangauge. This will allow you to clear the codes. Car has gone in limp mode. I had this problem several times whilst towing a caravan due to a performance chip which would cause a limp mode. No more as I have had the ECU remapped.

      Long start time when engine warm - 2004 Corolla

      Hi guys, I’m a long time Toyota owner, and am currently enjoying a 2004 Corolla Wagon with the 1.8 1ZZ-FE. The car starts and drives really well, however during warm starts (after sitting for 5 minutes) the car cranks for around 6-8 seconds before starting. It’s worth noting the following: - The car starts right away in the morning or if it hasn’t been driven for a couple of hours. - There is no indication of rough idle or fluctuations when driving - Outside air temperature doesn’t seem to make a difference I’m wondering if anyone has experience with this issue? I’m leaning towards vapour lock in the fuel rail caused by leaky injectors? I’d appreciate any advice or if anyone has had a similar issue with their car. Thanks very much in advance, Oakley

      Head Unit with Apple CarPlay

      Hi gillystylez, the link for your car and stereo is https://aerpro.com/vehicles/toyota/toyota-rav4-2013 I am not to sure with yours but you will need the APP9 Harness and Patch Lead, double DIN facia plate, possibly the T Harness (for adding aftermarket bluetooth car kits), double check with a supplier of the kits (Super Cheap, Repco...) to make sure of what you will need and get a quote on fitment or harness. I had to buy HEAPS more cables with the JVC unit and it was very expensive. Hope that helps!

      Brand new Prado 2022 with intermittent engine/transmission stutter

      Gday Doug (600C), I have a 2023 GXL that from new that has a ‘whoo-whoo’ sound at similiar revs that you describe. Its most anoying at 75km/hour in top gear under load ie. up a slight hill. Toyota guy cant give an explaination but says he drove another one with only 1000kms on the clock and did the same. Have you found a cure or diagnosis at all?
