My Tarago has a 26028 SatNav Unit (PZQ60-00200)

Someone (who shall not be named to protect the guilty) ejected the satnav disc, and the jammed it back in before the unit was ready to accept it. It now sits there saying "Insert Map Disc", but will not accept the disc.

What are my options?

Eclipse/Fujitsu Ten (in Melbourne) can either repair mine (cost unknown)

They can also supply me an exchange unit for $1,285 (if mine is serviceable...).

Toyota can supply me a replacement unit for $3,500 (YEAH, right!!!)

I have scanned Ebay with no luck.

Are there any other places I could source a replacement unit from at a "reasonable price" ($500-$600).

Do I just buy myself a Tomtom and put a standard CD head unit in?

Have you tried the wreckers?

I am personally not a fan of the stock headunits. Hence I would change it to an aftermarket ones.

Fujutsu Ten have come back with an option to quote to repair unit for $55, so at least I know what I'm up for.

So I figure I'll do that. If it's much more than $400-$500, I'll probably buy a new aftermarket unit. They are only a bit more than the exchange units in price...

Hi BongoVan

Have you tried disconnecting the power from the back of the head unit. I have had a few issues with mine the earlier model 18002 and this silved the problems, but if the unit is still operational apart from the Map DVD issue check that you know the security pin number or make sure its not turned on. Once you disconnect the power you may find it asks for this security pin and if you dont know it or havent got it your in deeper that where you started.

I know this post is a few months late but just incase your still scratching the old head.
