RAV4 2006 2.4L Petrol noisy startup

Hi forum members.

I have a 2006 Toyota RAV4 with the 2.4L 4cyl petrol engine with 100600km on the clock. Over the past few years its been making a strange noise when you start the engine from cold. As time has gone by the noise is now appearing when you do a warm startup. Some days it goes for 15 minutes others its only noticable in the first 30 seconds.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks for the reply, but has electric fans that only comes on when the engines warm.

check anyything around it, or if there's anything hittting the fan when it engages,

the sound is familliar with what happened to my mates car when this fan was hitting one of his pipings,

Hi, it's really hard to diagnose from hearing it on YouTube. You should take it to your nearest mechanic or dealership for them to inspect.

When the noise is apparent does it affect anything?does it drive normal? When you turn the steering does it go away? If you turn Ac on or off does it affect it?

Like I said it's really hard to pin point the problem. We get the usual "vvti rattle" but I've only seen that on the v6 engines, haven't yet come across one on a 4 cylinder.
