G'day all

2011 RAV 4 Cruiser Auto

Recently bought my first RAV 4 and am loving it - especially the iPod compatible audio system. However, I am puzzled by the iPod "browse" function on the audio system.

When I am driving along listening to the iPod (classic - no bluetooth, connected by cable) and I want to change the playlist, I navigate to the screen where button 6 "browse" is located - but it is often "greyed out" (not bolded) and I am unable to browse other playlists. However, sometimes it DOES work like I expect it to and I am able to browse and choose another playlist (most often not)

This has me a bit puzzled and frustrated. The manual has not provided me with the answer. I am sure the problem is in the sequence of buttons pressed to arrive at the "browse" option screen, however I am just not getting it!

Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?? How can I get the browse button to be always bolded, not greyed out?

Many thanks in advance!

Anyone know what's going on here? This "greyed out" browse button is very frustrating! Any advice would be appreciated.

Usually, as it does with my Toyota TomTom unit, when the car is not in Park or when the key is not in the ON position with the engine off ,the function becomes deactivated, due to health and safety.

This also happens with the audio system on my 2011 Aurion Touring.

I have a 160 GB iPod Classic with a heap of music on it and find that the audio system often struggles to keep up and "sync" with the iPod.

You just have to be patient and get used to it.

Not sure there is much you can do to change this.

The menu system on navigating through iPod files with the audio system is a bit clunky.
