Has anyone removed the weather strips off their 06-09 aurions successfully? Are they mounted up via holes in the doors or is it just double sided tape...

I'm assuming you are talking about weathershields. They are just mounted by double sided tape and a few metal hooks. I removed my slimline by digging into the tape a bit to loosen up the adhesive and just pulled them off.

Pictures of your car do not show you have weather shield. In this case, I will assume you actually mean the weather strips. In that event:

I just went down to my car and did the following... without every having done so in the past. Sometimes you just have to be willing to try something for yourself. This would have answered your question quicker than having to write a post here and wait for a reply:

...was actually referring to the strips down the sides of the doors, not related to anything to do with windows. Sorry shouldve been more specific. One of those moments after a big night out that you have these hairbrain ideas and dont think it completely through.

but yes.
