Which kind of locksmith tool do you choose?

I need a locksmith tool. A friend of mine recommended me that a tool called *******. He said this tool is especially designed for Subaru. But I accidently heard that there is tool which is universal(suited to all brand), just like this (******)

Well which one should I choose? Is the pick gun useful?
