head light problems

Hi brad, it sounds like your altinator stuffed, I had a commodore that did that, torwards the end when you had the lights on the car would cut out, the altinator wasnt producing enough current to run the lights and engines electrics, so the car would cut out, your hilux is different, theres no electric fuel pump or electrics that your engine relys on to keep going.

When you turned the lights off and turned the fog lights on , your altinator is only producing enough current to run the fog lights and the lights in the dash, can you start the hilux or do have to jump start it, if you have to jump start it , its likely to be the altinator, probadly the best option is take it to a auto electrician and get your altinator tested.
