Hey guys,

I bought some TRD brake pads about couple months ago. I have since then had this annoying squeaking sound upon light braking that I have tried to rectify at least 3 times.

I have tried to remove them, take off the metal backing plate and spray the anti squeal compound at the back and put them back on.

All to which I still have this annoying brake squeak.

I have ensured that the wear indicator is not touching as well.

Does anyone have any suggestions or ideas as to a remedy or fix.

I have a 04 Celica.

Cheers.

Sometimes there really is nothing you can do. So don't be surprised if you just can't get rid of it.

The pad compound may be to hard.. Therefore causing 'glazing' on the pad material and rotor face... Usually only happens under light breaking. Hope this helps :)

Should i attempt to rebed the surface of the rotors with new pad material ? Like the procedure of 10 hard stops consecutively

best thing to do is first measure the thickness of the rotors.. if possible, have them Machined and deGlaze pad surface or replace with softer compound.. sorry for the delay in reply.

Thanks for the response.

I already machined the front rotors prior to installing these pads. I think it might be a bit of a waste of money.

Although for these TRD brake pads they came with the Anti Squeal shims (metal shims), I took them off because I thought they were kind of useless and probably contributed to making the sound. When I had them on, I still had that sound...

TRD brake pads shouldnt be glazing up...

I run QFM A1RMs daily for a few months now and i have a squealing to grinding noise from my brakes depending on how hard i press. lighter usually squeaks and harder grinds. its just the nature of the pad itself.

Also you dont need to machine rotors unless youve warped them and they vibrate under braking (felt through the steering wheel)
