Paint feels rough (fine sand paper like)

Hi Guys,

I've got my new 2012 Aurion 2 weeks ago. I love the car apart from one thing. The paint... it looks perfect but really rough to touch in most areas of the car. Feels like fine sand paper, Just wondering is this a minor issue that I can fix myself or is it a factory defect that Toyota should fix? Has anyone else had this? How did you fix it? Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

It should be only a minor issue, considering the finish looks fine. the dealer probably gave it a cut and polish with a harsh abrasive polish. this is based on recent experience with having my panels repaired and having them leave a rough paint finsih after they cut and polished it. You might want to bring it back to the place you bought it from to see what they say. Otherwise, a pass of a light polish should erase any rough spots which should make the finish much smoother. It should work because it worked for me when i did after i brought it home after repairs. In short, many people in dealers and body repairs are average at detailing.

its industrial spray off, it happens at my work, yes clay baring it will get rid of it, take it back to dealer and get them to do it, happens at my work all the time due to having sand blasters and spray painters in the area, i have to clay bar my car every couple of months.
