Spark/Fuel/Immobilizer Celica sx 89 st162-R

Hi guys an girls,

I recently scored a celica cheap due to blown head gasket. i have completely recond the head and put it all back together an low an behold no spark, fuel etc. i have backtracked all the wire-ing(lol) an double tripple quadtripple checked timing marks etc. replaced coil pack blah blah blah. also it seems the fuel pump not cutting in aswell. im really starting to think its an immobilizer problem as i do not have a key fob, an the car must hav it due to the constant flashing red light. Now an old trick with vr-vs holdens an same year fords was leave ignition on an it bypasses the imob. gues what iv lefted ign on for over an hour an still no go. besides getting an Auto-elec does anybody know how the imob may be bypassed? also as an after thought i hav the obd-1 diognostic to get codes. in the book it tells me how to jump said connecter to another connecter to run fuel pump an see if it works. well wen i jump these terminals it sparks. so book was wrong again.

oh an in this case does the celica immobilizer cut fuel or spark or both?

Any ideas suggestions would be muchly appreciated, or somebody whom has had similar experience.

Thanks all

Sure it doesn't have an aftermarket security system? Our ST162 SX ('88 model) didn't have a key-fob or anything just a plain metal key, you opened the door with the key (had non-remote central locking though).

Immobilisers weren't standard fitment on cars in Aus until the 90s anyway...
