sorry if this is the wrong place to put this

well on the week end i got into a bit of cold water if you will, doing a river crossing the fuel pump died 1/2 way though but the time my mate pulled me out i had 4-5 cm of water in the car :(.

he pulled me out from the tow bar out up hill so that 4-5 cm of water turned in 20 cm of water near the gas/brake pedal for a few seconds while it drained out, then the troubles begin burnt out the srs module and abs one too, thats not bad put new ones in 30 buxs each and their fine.

the real issue is if the if the rear brake lights are connected the car constantly thinks its in reverse so it wont shift out of first! still drives but no mater how much you rev her she goes 40 max

on the dash in park only the p lights up in neutral only n lights up but in drive you get both d and r

same is in 1 2 and L

i cut the common wire for the rear lights and the box changes fine but reconnect it and she wont shift?

if any one can think of a problem i can have a look at it will be much appreciated thanks in advance

Have you had a look at the ECU for the transmission.

the auto elec that had a quick look and got it to change gears buy cutting the lights said this model don't have have a separate TCU the ECU and TCU are one unit and he check it was fine, i had a look the connector under the drivers seat(seams to connect to rear lights and trailer lights plug), theirs a lot of corrosion their? and if i put a multi meter to one of the points in it a white wire with grey doted line on it, near every other connection with in that plug is in continuity with it?e

thanks for the reply mate
