Hi, I have a beautiful Blue RAV4 AWD. My Mother bought it knowing she only had a short time to live and left it to me in her will safe in the knowledge I would be left with a reliable car to get me back to work when she'd gone.

That was two years ago and the RAV has really been a joy to drive, until about a month ago when the transmission started playing up. A little at first, just a bit of a slip and jolt between first and second, then a bang in reverse, and its just progressively got worse from there. It is now undriveable. I now know it is the dodgy ECM and I am investigating repair options which I will post in the relevant RAV4 topic section.
