Just finished rebuilding the 2zz due to a spun bearing. Get back the car excited to drive it again and i get no lift and the car limits at 7000 rpm. Eventually after driving for a while i get a CEL, so i go check it out and it comes up with P1349 VVT Malfunction Bank 1. I did some research and after checking everything we decided to get 2 new Oil Control Valves. We installed them yesterday and reset the ecu. We took the car for a spin and lift engaged but it dipped right before entry. So i did it again and the same thing. By the 3rd time it was back to no lift and limit at 7000 rpm. I though maybe the code was embedded and i needed to clear the CEL. So did that and still no lift. I really dont know what else it could be. The engine was assembled according to the workshop manual and pretty much everything is new including the lift bolts, vvt timing gear and sprocket. The rocker shafts were installed to spec as well. If anyone has an idea please im open to anything. I want to sell the car but who's going to buy a 2zz with no lift.

      2015 Atara SX - Speed Camera Alert Volume

      Hi Everyone, First time poster here, hoping someone with more Camry/Toyota knowledge can help me.. I'm in the process of getting my mother-in-law's 2015 Camry Atara SX ready for sale and have just driven it for the first time today. During the drive there was a ridiculously loud "Mobile speed camera blah blah" spoken alert that just about blew my eardrums, and another one saying "Speed limit is XX" (or something like that) when I went a few kms over the limit in a 50 zone. I'm not talking about a little bit loud, I'm talking acoustic shock levels of loud (the kind that makes you dread the next announcement). This is surely not normal, right? I've checked the manual and all the settings screens in the multimedia system and can't find anything that appears to control this feature (I'm not even sure what to call it). This model doesn't appear to have navigation (there isn't anything in the multimedia system that mentions navigation anywhere), so I'm not even sure where this alert data comes from in the first place. I'm stumped, and currently, the car is unfit for resale because of this. It's a health hazard. Does anyone know what's responsible for this alert? Is there some way to fix the volume or disable the feature entirely? Really hoping someone can help me out here! Many thanks

      2006 Aurion 222000kms

      Bought this in 2008 and has a full service history since then. Blue, touring mag wheels, cloth seats, new tyres (yokohama) recently, brakes replaced, aircon compressor replaced (12 months back) It has a couple of small dents (bonnet and boot spoiler) but the car runs very well.       2017 Diesel d4d toyata hiace limp mode

      overheated engine

      I drive a 2010 series 200 sahara V8 automatic. I recently towed a small caravan on a not that hotter day. The temperature gauge went to about half then dropped back to normal. The motor then went into limp mode and eventually stopped. On lifting the bonnet i noticed the top radiator tank had split all the way across. I have only two months ago had the complete cooling system checked with no defects. I called the RAA in South Aust and they tried to start it but just turned over but did not fire up. It was still pretty hot. I have been told the motor would be ruined by overheating. The car has been sitting at the repairers for 5 days now and as far as i know it has not been attempted to start. Before putting a new motor in it would it be worth putting a new radiator in it and see if it will fire up? Open to any suggestions at this stage.

      1996 Trueno XZ - Is it worth modding?

      Depends on how common/rare they are in your part of the world. The XZ trim was the second-lowest so didn't come with most of the fun bits that the full-fruit BZG/V/R models did, so it's not anywhere near as desirable stock but sometimes you have to make do with what you can find, plus you shouldn't feel as guilty modding the heck out of it since most of it isn't special.

      VSC, Traction Control, Check Engine lights all on

      I attended Toyota Preston for Aurion ATX 2013 major service today. Cost $~$1300. On the way home I stopped to pick up dinner. Two fault lights: engine and VSC lights came on when I restarted the car. Car drove home just fine. I can only return the car tomorrow for them to sort out. Annoyed. Let’s see if they’re still on in the morning.

      1996 Trueno XZ - Is it worth modding?

      Hi everyone, new member to the group and owner driver of a nifty little Toyota Sprinter Trueno XZ, now this was my cousins car, I bought it off him and after various drives, I have come to the decision that this needs alot of love. Now I am wondering if its worth putting my time and money into doing this certain make n model up or should I just buy a different car to do up?
