Kanmuri79
Hey all,Looking at potentially installing the following K&N Intake:http://www.knfilters.com/search/product.aspx?prod=69-8620TTKI've been askin ebay sellers, listed retailers/installers from the K&N website and just today i also emailed K&N directly but so far no luck with anyone local being able to tell me whether it'll suit my 2013 Camry 2.5 litre. The engine design almost identical as far as exterior layout. If anyone has a clue, id appreciate it.Heres a link to an american 2.5 with the intake installed.www.youtube.com/watch?v=dnuB2PIZvuw
Rebz
i'll be honest. Firstly, there is no power gains what so ever and i'ts been mentioned on the forums before too.Secondly, Yeah it does make a difference (Sound wise) really beasty when you put you foot down. But i noticed my petrol was wasting a lot more. Whether you're driving fast everyday or normal, it wastes so much petrol.

Whether you're driving fast everyday or normal, it wastes so much petrol.Yeah ive been hittin the forums as usual not just on here either... Im not fussed about the power gains but would prefer a more aggressive sound.I havent really seen ppl say theyve been usin more petrol... When u had a short ram installed was it on the TRD? If so keep in mind im only drivin a 2.5 litre. Thanks for replyin anyways Rebz - latest flickr pic on ya post looks mean.
Rebz
You'll def get that aggressive sound man Nah not TRD, should really make a difference in petrol usage if i had a 2.5 or a 3.5l lol i still see a difference.Anytime, ;) thanks buddy

Harlo
Hi Camry,I'm just wondering if you've received it yet and if you think it's worth purchasing? I'm thinking of getting something similar but I can't work out if I can justify the cost :l

I'm planning on uploadin a short video for pre and post install of the engine sound. If you're worried about the cost i probably would advise against it. It seems the biggest difference is just audible but i'm doin it cuz i just want a nicer sound when i kick it in the guts.
Harlo
I ended up getting it - was quite impulsive. Had a 10% off eBay voucher that should have expired but still worked so quickly rushed to find something to spend it on. I hope it's worth it, does an upgraded intake make that much difference in sound on the outside or is it more of a cabin noise upgrade?

Wish i had that 10% off. If your Grande is anything like most camrys they're normally a quieter ride according to most, so you shouldnt notice a huge difference in the cabin at all, except when you're really pushing the engine, even then it shouldn't be loud inside. If ya could post some pics of ya install that'd be good.good luck. Harlo
My Grande was written off a few months back and I've since upgraded to an IS250. Hopefully the intake won't mess up the cabin ambience too much but I love the sounds from these intakes. Do you know if we have to inform the insurance co. of the mod? I'm assuming not having to inform insurance of a different air filter. It's not really anything major.

Your camry is looking heaps good now!! good job!! All done Ali... Very Happy with the sound - my mate got it done in a bit over an hour... I probably could have done it but it would have taken longer and my mate just did his K&N for his Honda. Lovin the sound... Its there when you want it and stealth when just takin it easy. Great rumble sound. I did a couple of very short vids on Samsung... The sound may be **** throught the phone but you can hear the difference. I'm tryin to upload em but never done that before. Here's some pics anyways.

doobey123
Get rid of that resonator, it will help boost the sound of the pod filter, i did it to mine and it sounds awesome now and still sounds stock as a rock when you keep the RPM below 2.5k

The pod filter cover?Dont worry when i first heard it i didnt know what it was eitherthe resonator is a black plastic box, its only, and i mean only purpose in the engine is to make it quieter. I think that one with the yellow bit is the resonator, but then again im not entirely sure as i have a different engine, my resonator wasnt in the middle of the air intake it was on the side next to the intake tubing, I would ask around for someone with the same car that has done the same thing and find out, or maybe the work shop manual will help you a bit more. Sorry i cant help more i wish i could, Ive got a pod filter in mine and it was okayish, but then i covered the resonator with gladwrap(DIY to the max i know) to prevent the air going into the resonator and boom, doubled the beefyness and still kept it quiet, it too me about 5 minutes to do, yours might take longer as it looks to me that its actually in between the intake and the and the entrance of the intake tubing

Can't believe I never thought of something like covering the hole. Thanks for the idea!
