I have a 2007 Presara, the problem if it is a problem , when I reverse out of my drive and start to go forward there is a clunk that seems to come from the right front possible wheel ??, I've done 210K still original wheel bearings and front brake pads.

Not sure on the noise but there's no way you're still on your original front pads. :)
Rotors perhaps but not the pads.

Has your suspension been replaced over the years yet? That may be the source your clunk.

ABS Self-check "clunk" perhaps?

.

.

Q) My Aurion makes a clunk / knock sound when driving off for the first time after starting it. Is this a problem?

This is not an issue. Every time you start your engine and then drive off the ABS performs a self-check. The service manual best describes this:

When the vehicle speed first becomes approximately 4 mph (6 km/h) or more after the ignition switch is turned on (IG), each solenoid valve and motor of the brake actuator is sequentially activated to perform an electrical check. During the initial check, the operating sound of solenoid valve and motor can be heard from the engine compartment, but this is not a malfunction.

Have a read through there and see if it is the same issue that you are having. If so, then you've got nothing to worry about

Thanks Hiro for that it does sound like the actuator so no problems.

Thanks Couzellion but yes still on the original front brake pads, had the rears replaced and a rotor skim just before Christmas.

I lived in the Pilbara when I bought the car new so LONG k's without touching the brakes, the Aurion has been right round the country, even got 100K out of the first set of tyres, she's due for replacement this year but were not happy with the new Presara looks very plastic inside and no Toyota link, and if the wife gets her way it's going to be the new 313 Mustang when it comes out in 2015.

Well bugger me then, fair effort 210K on the pads. Must be some sort of record and strange that you've had the rears replaced first.

Anyway neither here nor there. Good luck with the Mustang, interested to see what they price up at!
