Hi guys,

I punctured one of my tyres awhile ago and it was not able to be repaired (too close to the side wall)

Will be travelling long distances when i move out of melb into the country, so i figured id need a reliable spare, so i dont get stuck in the middle of nowhere.

I just spoke to the guy at my local bridgestone, and the cheapest he could do for a turanza ER30 was $206 (from $240). He said it wouldnt be recommended I slap any tyre on as a spare, due to load ratings, size and such. He said the reason why it was so expensive was because the tyre is a strange size, and he even needed to order it in.

What are your thoughts guys, should i stick with the turanza and pay 200 or go for a no name.

thanks in advance for your replies,

- austin

for spare, i choose anything decent, not too expensive n not too cheap.

but $200 for a spare tyre is abit expensive IMO. i usualy buy 2nd tyre for my spare. anyway you wouldnt use the spare tyre for a long time.

thanks for the replies guys

only thing im worried about is, if i get a flat 300km's out from melbourne on the hume hwy, means the spare has to be able to go the distance and handle highway speeds.

mello> does the nakangs have the same load rating as the turanza er30?

I went for toyo proxes-t1r. A much better tyre than the turanza but it is a directional tyre so not sure if it'll help with your spare.
