speaker measurements

this is my first post, i was wondering what the measurements for the factory front and rear speakers of a 2002 corolla levin hatchback were.

Good question.. I think the fronts are 6 1/2" or 6". The rears are 5 1/4".

yeah i dont know about the rears, but the holes for the fronts are definately big enough to fit a 6.5" speaker in without any dramas at all... the stocks might be 6" cos there's a fair bit of plastic on there...

opened the door panel today and checked out the speakers, they have a plastic "rim" around the side of the speaker bolted in with rivets. is the "rim" part of the speaker and if i were to remove the speaker, would that come off with it, making it one piece?

yeah, the plastic thing around it is part of the speaker. the whole thing goes out if you want to upgrade your speakers.

if you are thinking of upgrading your rears as well, you can also fit 6 1/2" size speaker in there too.

i was also wondering, is this the same for the corolla ascent hatchback as they both have similar dimensions?

yeah all the door holes are the same... the only difference would be that the ascent doesnt have tweeters..

when i replaced my speakers in the door, i just got a serated knife and sawed the whole speaker cone out. that way i could just stick my new 6.5" in the rim...

wow that sounds bad...
