Ok so I had been asked about this so I thought I'd share with everyone.

I have mounted my GPS in my sunglasses holder because it was no use to me as my sunglasses were to big.

I haven't got any pics of the actual install as it's to late to pull the car part.

It is pretty easy though so you shouldn't have any major dramas.

So I had a UHF radio fitted by Auto barn but they stuffed it up so I had to fix it.

When I fixed it I used the same power source (the ignition) as the UHF.

I attached a cigaret lighter type socket under the dash to the ignition with a USB attachment.

Similar to what you would use to charge your phone.

I had a USB extent ion cable lying around the house, I used this, plugged it into the charger and ran it up the driver side A Pillar, across the front of the roof and into the sunglasses holder.

Make sure you leave enough so when it opens and closes it doesn't pull t out or damage it.

(I can't remember exactly how I manage to put it in the sunglasses holder, I'd have to pull it apart to be sure)

So about now, or even before would probably be better, you need to gently pull the sunglasses holder out and then remove the flap/door itself.

Be careful not to brake it, there are some little pieces (a spring and regulator) so watch you don't loose them.

I had to trim it a bit, just so the lip isn't in the way.

Depending on your gps you may need to take off more or less.

You will need to also trim the foam to put in some velcrow.

I did this because the GPS will stick out to far if I didn't.

Now I used velcrow so I could take it out if I need to.

Make sure you put it up as far as possible,

You may need to use a thin flat bit of rubber to act as a spacer.

You may also need to cut a small slot in the section where you nose piece of your sunnies would go.

********

NOTE: if you leave it open while the vehicle is left in the sun the sticky on the velcrow may melt and it can pop out and hang from the roof until you come back and fix it.

********

Once you have done this you can put it back together,

Remember to put the USB cable through when you're doing this.

Now you're pretty much done.

Turn it on and see if it works.

I know I'm not the best at explaining things so please if I have left something out or you need more info let me know and I'll see what I can do.

Great install, mine has a different sunny holder to your Prodigy, mine curves up at the bottom more to hold the sunnies in place so I would have to cut a fair bit away to see the screen if I place it in like you have done. I tried my gps in mine and the bottom 1/4 of the screen is abstructed by the 'cups' for the lenses to sit in on my car. Love you door pocket lights and the rear steplights in the centre console. Looks great.

Yeah mine was the same. I bought the unit out of a presara as I wanted the centre light to come on automatically so as I have two I cut one so I have a spare if I need it later.

Thanks mate, I love the lights in the door pocket.

I'm going to put suade on the door cards too, just can't be bothered ATM haha it's very diddly haha

So you did have to cut away part of the sunny pocket, the cut is so neat it looks factory.

Thanks mate.

Yeah I cut it away.

I'm OCD like that. I try to make everything look factory if I can.

I can't recall how I did it as it was so long ago.

I think it was with a Stanley knife now that I think about it.

There was lots of filling after though.
