I'm having car troubles straight from 6 months ago. I took it to get sorted and had to pay $500 for nothing.

1 week later, the welch plug was changed. then 2 weeks after that the starter motor needed replacing. Now the car is smoking white smoke out of the exhaust and its feeling heavy on the steering and acceleration- suggestions on what it could be? The White smoke? It's not oil- checked that

What did you check?

Given what you have said above, I would suggest having a compression test and cylinder leak down test done.

Ok I checked the oil and given that it came from the mechanics you would think they didn't overfill the oil. But I think they might have. However the car just went flat and I think the battery needs to be either replaced or spark plugs. The battery has oxidised so maybe it's the battery....???or spark plugs? Which one is cheaper to replace?

Don't go replacing parts without diagnosing the issue correctly. It will turn it into a money pit.
