Hi

I have a 1999 Toyota Echo -great little car only has about 130,000km on it. For the last 6 months its been running VERY sluggishly on start up - mainly when the weathers hot. On very cold days its not anywhere near as bad. Once i drive the care for 5 moniutes or so it runs fine with no problems.

I took it to a mechanic last week - they replaced the spark plugs, checked timing, cleaned throttle assy, replaced air and oil filters and changed oil etc . They also removed and cleaned the MAF sensor ( i gave them the correct maf sensor cleaning spray). NO DIFFERENCE . Any ideas on what else to try?

Mechanic suggested replacing maf sensor ... i reckon its unlikely to fail

any ideas appreciated

thanks

marty
