Hi all, sorry if this is the wrong section. I have a Camry conquest 1999, 4cyl manual. No aftermarket accessories.

The battery is very dead and the car has been sitting dormant for quite a while. I'm going to sell it (maybe even without plates), but I need to replace the battery. It uses a 55d23L, so 500+ cca. I'm not overly keen on spending $145 on a battery (exide) when I just want to sell it. I know there's an x-pack battery for $69 nearby, but only 300CCA. Naturally the other cheap option is a reconditioned battery, but the x-pack may be a safer bet...If it would start my car. Thoughts?

How do you know? Not questioning yourself, just wondering how I would have been able to know that for myself.

So I might be stuck forking out a bit of money for a new battery? I figure a reconditioned battery could be a bit iffy... (and my car has some electrical problems as it is)

There is a heap of info out there; however, the general rule is never go lower than the manufacturer.

I tried looking it up, couldn't find anything at all to guide me in the right direction, and the manual doesn't list minimum battery specifications, just the battery type. So, not finding anything it what led me here.

Cheers....given it could take some time to sell it I guess I'll just bite the bullet and get a cheap Century.
