Hi guys, just signed up, great forum. Looking for a little info or similar issue.. A couple of weeks ago i noticed a drop of oil under the engine of my 79 in my drive way, after further inspection found the whole front of the engine and down the sump wet from eng oil. I have given it a clean and degrease now but it won't leak on idle and after a big drive it's alread covered the front of the engine and starting to drip again so it's very hard to pin point. My question is this, has anyone had a similar issue I.E front seal, timing cover ect? As they are very uncommon to be known to leak oil has me a bit stumped, the car has only done 74,000ks. Any help would be much appreciated.

cheers Macca

Gday im currently having the exact same problem, have you discovered what the problem was and what needed to be fixed?

I did a quick internet search. For that particular post, the solution ended up being the oil sender unit.

Starting point is to thoroughly clean the engine. Then go for a test drive with a series of stopping and checking until you can identify the source of the leak.

Oil leaks can be a bugger especially if it involves a more invasive fix like main seals etc..

Hope it's an easy fix Kyle. Let us know how you get on.
