G'day everyone. I just purchased a 2005 Avalon with 184,000kms.

Love the car but its been stalling.

It doesn't stall from a cold start or if it has been sitting for an hour but if I run into the shops for 15 minutes and come back to start the car the revs are just above 0 and as soon as I reverse or accelerate it stalls.

Has anyone faced this issue or could help shed some light on the subject?

Cheers

My guess is that the throttle body and/or idle air control [IAC] valve need to be cleaned.

If your vehicle has a mass airflow [MAF] sensor, then check and spray clean with the correct sensor cleaning spray.

A Google search and watching some YouTube videos for the abovementioned items will give you a good idea of what is involved.
