Anyone Fancy Replacing The Valve Seals on the 2GR-FE ?

That was the title of the video, but upon watching it, it actually illustrates the replacement of the valve springs instead, not the 'seal' per say. I assume the uploader may have a language barrier and calls a valve spring a valve 'seal ' perhaps ?

Regardless, what a job !

Too involved for my liking.

I have read about valve springs having to be replaced on other vehicles because of poor quality or design.

Not exactly something that can be avoided by doing regular oil changes.

Did valve springs on my falcon once. Was a bit fiddly & time consuming without an air compressor (rope in the cylinder trick) but the inline 6 was a dream to work on. So much room!!!

Yeah, Me too. This was the result of a service bulletin in America I believe. It is possible the 2GR-FE is built to a differing standard for the various parts of the world because I've never heard of such a thing for the Aussie Aurion V6.

Love any inline 6. We used to play with the old Falcon/Cortina 4.1 LT crossflow engines back in the day and they were a dream to work on too.

The guy in the video was lucky he was working on a rear wheel drive Lexus so his banks were easily accessible. Love to see him do this on an Aurion lol !

I bet it would be an engine out job for sure.
