Hi

I have a 2015 3.0l hilux just bought with 215K on the clock. Engine has just been replaced by previous owner due to cracked piston. Transmission sounds like its had a hard life with syncro whine. There's this sloshing noise coming from the gearbox or area around the box sounding like oil swishing through an orifice. Really strange only does it once it's warmed up and really noticeable when downchanging from 4th to third or travelling at lower speeds shifting constantly. It's not AC ruled that out.

No direct experience with that issue but I would consider doing a change of the transmission oil then see if there is any improvement.

Yes, first thing I done, all oils Inc oil stabiliser. Since put exhaust and snorkel on. Also removed centre console and nutserted the two front holes on the shifter cover to screw it down. Filled the cavity and under the console itself with egg carton foam and buttoned back up.

Whine is considerably lower but the sloshing noise still comes and goes. I've noticed it mainly in 3rd gear downchanging and also accelerating(although it's hard to hear under noise) it doesn't happen in 4th or 5th. If I'm cruising through the suburbs it will happen in second also (constantly changing cogs)

I'm not overly worried about it, but if someone has had it before it might satisfy my curiosity.
