Hey all, new here so please be gentle. In a nutshell, I have a 1989 2.8 3l LN106 Diesel. Vehicle ran perfect but has slowly been becoming increasingly difficult to start, and when it does run, it runs fine until I stop giving it fuel (at a stop sign) at which point it starts to shudder and ultimately die.

I live in Hawaii, so no cold issues here. All new glow plugs, new battery, new fuel filter, new timing belt. Injection pump and starter was rebuilt within the year. Connection to battery is good. Fuel is good.

It's a simple engine, but what am I not thinking of? Thanks in advance for any advice!!

When I had an idling issue, I did a search on YouTube videos.

Can I suggest checking and cleaning the throttle body. Not sure if there is also an idle control valve which will also need to be cleaned.

Hopefully a Hilux owner will be able to confirm or provide more applicable suggestions.
