How to Charge iPhone - 2013 Aurion AT-X

Hi guys, bit of a dumb question I hope - in the centre console of my 2013 Aurion AT-X (which I've recently purchased) there's a USB connection.

When connecting my iPhone to it, the charge light comes on but does not actually seem to charge it! i.e. doesn't seem to provide enough power to the phone.

I replaced the USB unit but exactly the same thing happens on the "new" one.

Is this normal or should the USB connection be able to power a modern iPhone?

I'm using the old style USB plug-in to the 2 cigarette lighters at the moment - but would like something a bit more modern lol

Thanks, Stephen.

There are no dumb questions here mate, it sounds like the voltage from the usb isn't capable enough to charge a modern iphone. I would check out the local auto store for advanced usb chargers that will plug into the cig lighter outlet. Cheapest way to go I feel as stuffing around trying to up the amp output would not be worth it. I know my wife's Galaxy S21 will charge in our 2009 Presara we just grabbed a better quality double usb socket plug and it works fine so hope that will help.
