Why jas why?

the steel is good stuff!

i took mine out to clean it and it was so simple (little soap hot water dry and its shweet. Foam filters once washed a few times get damaged and you have to replace.

and i belive it sucks better too the steel one

im just interested to see if there was a difference ..

the unifilter ones are priced in a reasonable range and I wonder the difference between unifilter and the itg

ive got to give the stainless steel one back to mark .. and so the TRD one will have to go back on ..

so many options which to choose ??

anyone else running a foam based pod ?

im gonna get the unifilter one for sure .. coz i want to do some testing ...

if its better than the trd pod then ill get rid of it ..

another question - ... Ive searched and couldnt find it ... can the TRD pod be oiled like the K&N ? and will oiling make a diff

yep the TRD one gets oiled the same.

I looked into the ITG filter for a while but in the end it was too much effort and cost for not much gain. I may look at it again soon though... no must resist spending more money on my car :lol::lol:

or you can just buy the oil spray for $12 and follow the instruction on how to clean the filter. You can use normal dish washing detergent if you want, you just need something that cuts through the grease. Massage it in well then wash it off and remember to back flush the filter ;)

let it dry completely before oiling it though.

Danthyer wrote up a very good how to guide... take a look :)

This might sound stupid but would it be worth oiling the steel ones?

yeah i have a unifilter rampod in my car, it does the job very well and it sucks heaps of air in,

but the bad thing about it is that you have to keep the foam oily all the time and have to look after it.

its for people if you dont mind getting your hand dirrty and washing it.

if you dont look after it, your maf sensor (air flow meter) can be damage and the rampod will be sucking bad dirty air. causing the maf sensor dirty aswell
