After 50.000km my LHR shock absorbers are leaking on my 2004 Toyota Corolla Sportivo. Car is still under warranty and I've had my Pedders springs in for only 15,000km.

I was told I wasnt covered under warranty due to having springs which I know and I might have to just

upgrade to Koni Shocks....

Is there anything else I can do with Toyota to get them to fix it under warranty? I Spoke to the warranty clerk at Toyota Preston and he said you should be covered but he'd have to write a letter into

Toyota but then after speaking to him today he done a big back flip....

Anyone else have this problem? :help:

You've pretty much voided your whole suspension area by changing just your springs. I don't think you can do anything to fix it under warranty especially after going to Toyota and them knowing about it know.

One of my mates was in the same situation as u a few years back but didn't go to Toyota. Was going to change back to stock springs to claim warranty but was too much trouble so he just upgraded to Konis. I think you should do the same :D

I had a problem like this with the g/f's (now mine) ZZE-122r, (2001 toyota corolla conquest hatch)

The shockers (cant remember which ones) was reported as "leaking" by her mechanic. However toyota said they were 'weeping' and that it was normal.

After that I was told by my mechanic that there was 'feathering' on the tyres, and that the shockers were boarderline unroadworthy. He also recommended that I take it to pedders for a 'bounce test'

Pedders said the shockers were way way too soft, and were 95% gone.

I took the car back to toyota, and they said, the shockers are perfectly fine.

I cracked it.... I wanted answers... (I think i called the toyota guy a c*nt)

After a few abusive calls... Toyota Nunawading (on their own time, and expense) arranged for a new (40kms on the clock) Corolla to go to pedders for the same bounce test...........

(we care about your safety, and if you don't feel 100% safe in the car that we believe is safe, then rahh rahh rahh rahhh rahhh.... etc etc..)

....and the results were virtually identical... Pedders went really really quiet...

Needless to say, the tyres were actually wearing normally...

The "leaking" AKA: weeping, i believe, was just a 'sweat' of oil, which was needed for lubrication and was normal.

And the fact that pedders (supposedly the best of the best with the most experience) are not the most experienced people in dealing with toyota... Toyota are...

That being said... I am NOT saying your car is fine... Every circumstance is different.

I am simply mentioning that I had a very similar problem with a non modded car, and it turned out to be pedders/my mechanic (now ex) wanting some extra money....

I spoke to the warranty clerk at Toyota and he put in an authority for me and the

shocks will be fixed under warranty.

The Springs shouldn't be leaking just because I have heavy duty springs in the car, even though

I was told springs void my warranty it depends if the springs were i direct cause of the

shocks leaking, which isnt the case.

So hopefully this provide some information in case this happens to you! :yahoo:
