Levin's Colour Coded Mudspats

Recommended Posts

Can any of the Levin owners tell me how much of the rear mudspat is colour coded. Is it the whole thing (ie. both inside and outside part) or is it just the outside part. If it's the latter, where does the paint stop?

Just that I got mine done.

It's hard to see from the images but the paint stops just before where the plastic is raised a little bit. Due to this, the finish (where it start and finishes) is a bit jagged and doesn't look smooth.

I'm probably just being picky but would like it to look as nice as possible.

looks like the painter masked the raised edge. it looks unfinished. i am puzzled why the painter went to the trouble of masking off the raised edge. if you are unhappy with how it looks go back and get it re-done.

only the outside is painted, the inside remains dark to match the wheel well.

The reason for the step is for styling purposes - TMC direction.

I would suggest that due to the mudguards being moulded in PP material (which is a flexible resin), it would be next to impossible trying to achieve the same paint range with a paint mask - therefore the jagged edges would be due to the paint masking tape being pulled off after baking.

It would be easier just to paint the whole thing. Make sure the back face of the part is masked off so you don't get overspray on that side (painted surface - visual face only).
