Yes you can spray them with a product called Spray Tint. Last I saw was around $10 from Autorbarn and one tine should do it

Is this legal? And is it easy to apply without making me lights look crappy n goose-bumpy?

I know a few people who has applied that tint spray and IMO, it would depend on how well you apply it. I've seen some really well done ones and some really dodgy ones as well. I'd go practicing on some clear plastic first or glass first before applying it to your tail or headlights.

So long as your lights can be seen when they need to be, it is 100% legal (at least in Queensland).

As MassiveBackside said, practice on some clear plastic first, but sol long as your careful, then you should be right doing it yourself. I did myLancer when I had it. Just remove the cluster from the car, put it on an old sheet or something, then spray as you would any other spray can. I usually go across ways taking the spray off the edge of the thing I am painting so that your not stopping the paint supply on the thing you ar painting, therefore leaving runs and double-up...

Good luck

In most states you will find that the legality involves ensuring that you can still see the light being emitted both day & night....

Also, if you go too dark, you are just asking for the police to pull you over.....

Sorry for digging up an old thread, but searched for answers, after you spray the "Spray tint" do you need clear coat to make it shiny and not fade? or does the spray itself keep a shine to the taillights rather than a matte colour?

Cheers

ive helped a fren tint his tail lights with the spray tint.. the finish is matte..

its up to u if u want it to have a glossy finish :P but IMO the matte finish is nicer :)
