Painting calipers yellow

Im planning to spray my calipers yellow, as red is to common. Does anyone with a black stivo done this before. If so can you please post pics, as i would like to see them before i do it. Ive seen pics of lambos and porches with yellow calipers and they look the shizzle, but not to certain how they will look on the rolla. Pics please

Went today aond got some red 1500 f paint bust spraying now.

Ok then, I dont want that. I think im just gonna go with blue to match my blue theme of coilovers and strut brace. :P :P I seen how they look in sportiv car awesome and not over the top. :)

is there anyone or that can recommend me to someone that can paint my calipers aswell as my rotors (hud) rotors is where the bolts are for your wheels...ummm how can i say this...between the wheel and the disc break......would anyone know a good place to go?

Cant find any gold caliper paint. All places only sell red, silver, blue, black and satin black

Thnx Vyets i just checked out VHT brochure and i can get gold hi temp 1500F (815C)paint hehe. GOLD FTW

I wanna do mine gold too, i think autobahn has gold caliper paint. :D

Gold's definitely the way to go!!! :D i used the high temp gold paint for the engine/rocker cover for my calipers with a coat of black caliper paint under it..hope that helps :)

I used the VHT Flame proof paint.

Flat red not the usual glossy red most use and it looks mint!

No problems with peeling,fading or staining at all.

Did it all my self! Wheel off newspaper and spray,spray,spray!

Make sure you get fair bit of coats on it!

I used 3/4 of a can on both my front callipers

Yep i just did mine in GOLD, took 3hrs alltogether. The cleaning and prep work is the most time consuming part, but worth it. I did 4 coats looks a treat. Not sure about doing the rears as they are very small.

looks nice, where did you get the Gold paint from and what sort of paint did you use. I have yellow paint sitting here waiting until I return from holidays to do mine. :D

Blue_stivo i used VHT brake caliper paint, I bought the last gold one at autobarn at villawood. I was suprised i found gold colour........Maybe they can order more in

I did 4 coats and no i did not use clear coat just the paint

I just finished doing my calipers red (white car, seemed to be a good option, although that gold looked excellent!) When I say just finished, I mean the car got put back in the garage an hour ago after a quick hill run to clear the overspray off the surface of the brake dics!

While I was there, I also did the hubs silver again as there was a touch of corrosion on them and it was looking a little ratty - especailly the rears.

I used a bit over half a can of red (Septone 400g brake paint - Super Cheap Auto about $16) to do the front and rear calipers and another can of silver (less than half a can) to do the front and rear hubs - 3 coats on the lot. For the hubs, I used a finish they call aluminium.

With a can of degreaser for cleaning, two sheets of wet & dry sandpaper and the two aersol cans, my overall job budget was about $37. Camera phone pics don't do it justice - but will post some pics if anyone is interested (and can point a newbie in the right direction re: posting pics).
