mine used to do this and it really started to ***** me off so one day i bought a exedy hd clutch - put it in and havent had the slightest issue since.

also note upon removing my clutch disc we realized it was completely fcked, springs and all. alot of funny noises also disappeared that the car made prior to the clutch change.

ok fellas, quick update again. cars has sorta started to crunch again, and i dont know if its me getting nervous, cause if i shift bymyself it never happens but if someones in the car it does.lol.

But then its only like 1 out of 10 times. Im also thinking that my clutch is starting to go on its way out as i can feel it ride when its gets warm and i also think i need a clutch pedal adjustment again which could be the problem.

Will let you know soon.

Tried the clutch adjustment today.

Blardy pushrod is so hard to get to. If you manage to do this, please post a DIY please.

Thanks.

Today Guni and i had some fun removing and then placing the clutch pedal and assembly back in his sportivo, we found that to actually adjust it safley you would need the pedal in place to prevent bending or breaking the clutch shaft, our tools prevented us from making the adjustments.

yeh its tricky but do-able,

i removed the whole assembly, loosened the nut, put it all back, adjusted, then nipped up the nut

i bought crows feet tools, didnt work, bought it for nothing, and ive never used it!

nice.....ive got 75w90 castrol syntrax with nulon G70 at moment in mine, been in there since 45k (now 73) is good and smooth although still crunch occasionally....more so prob due to me not concentrating or concentrating too much and stuffing up the change...

Like i said i used that before and had same results as you, easier gear changes but still crunching, but now went to 75w85 and its even smoother and no crunching no matter how crap i shift.

since i fixed my cv's GB oil came out, so i thought may aswell do an oil change on that, went for the 75w85 Nulon, with the G70 addative, im so pleased with it !

i went to supercheap to get the oil, and they didnt sell it in 5L bottles, tho they loooked up the book and said it requires only 2.3L or something like that, so it only came in 1L bottles, at $30 each, ouch ! so pretty much a full bottle left, cause i bought 3, so when i do my HD clutch, i can top it up! woot

once again very pleased with 75w85

Finally adjusted the master push rod today and I must say it shifts quite smooth now. Uber great! No complains...... so far.

Didn't have to remove the pedal assembly but did have to remove the fork from the clutch pedal....

Ok guys, another update

I was talking to xoom a few weeks ago in regards to the clutch issue again as it seemed like the crunching had come back, well a mate suggested getting a long push rod and his mate had done that and cleared the problem.

Anyhow, i mentioned it to xoom and he gave me this link to mwr Longer Pushrod

so,i ordered one and i got it installed this weekend, and .......................... im shifting so good that i keep hitting limiter and smacking seconds with no issues, shifting in lift is so smooth cause i no longer get that brief moment of coming out of lift then revving up into it.

Crunching has gone from 6-7/10 times to about 1/20 times. I CANT BELIEVE IT. Like i said in previous posts, my clutch is still on its way out so that might still be the cause of that 1 crunch but for a measly $70-$80 to see if it works without having to change the clutch its worth it. Mind you that 1 crunch was my 3rd attempt after installing the pushrod, have done about 20x 1st-2nd land in lift attempt since with no issues, while succesfully landing in lift.

Please sportivo owners do try it, cause if it works it saves you trying to change the clutch and let us know how it goes.

Delivery was about a week with tracking details

PLEASE DO TRY!!

And tell us Mr LFT, after almost 3 moths using the Long Pushrod, How is it working?.... No problems at all or the crunching came back? Do you recon this Long Pushrod has resolved the problem forever?.... Thanks for keeping us apdated, means a lot to us.

Still having fun, since driving the car more and having more practice, car only crunch 1/30 times now lthough nowhere near as severe as it used to, a quick little rev and it pops straight in when it does crunch,(obviously let the gbox warm up) still running on the factory clutch, now having done 112,xxx, dont really drive it much anymore, its become a weekend car.

I wouldnt say its completely fixed the problem, but it has dramatically improved it to the point where its now completely acceptable. (honda's crunch all the time from my experience(not me personnally, but mates cars and internet videos)) Like i said, changing clutch might fix that last little bit, but im happy enough not to spend any more money until the clutch has completely had it.

Yes, for the price i still completely recommend it! Worth every penny :D :D

Hey,

ive read alot about the crunching issues, lucky enough i have never had a crunching problem, it is definately very difficult to get it into gear but ive never crunched, i did an gearbox oil change, last thursday and i noticed its easier to shift and not as hard, it does need a fair bit of force though, i put Penrite gl-5 semi-synthetic 75 - 90.

Another thing someone told me to try which i did and works is, watch it and as it hits 8k shift and do give it a bit of force and it goes straight in, if you want, try this at your own risk as you do have to take your eyes off the road!
