Hi all,

Just returned home from 5 day family holiday on the Great Southern Touring Route and thought I'd share some photos for those that are planning a similar trip.

We were pretty excited about getting the Kluger and thought this would be the perfect trip to get more aquainted with the car.

We didn't complete the full touring route but covered most of it. See map below of our trek:

Some photos along the way:

Stayed 2 nights here (BIG4) at Halls Gap.

Me and the little bloke at Venus Baths in Halls Gap - This place was the highlight of the trip on a 30 degree day.

HIGHLIGHTS:

1. Venus Baths at Halls Gap

2. BIG4 Caravan parks!! Port Fairy and Halls Gap

3. Mutton Birds at Port Fairy - arrive every night on dusk 8.15pm ish.

4. Great Ocean Rd - amazing views.

5. Warrnambool - Pertobe Lake play ground - heaven for kids.

There are a lot more things to do along the way, but given our kids are 3 and a half and 1 and a half and my wife is 7 months pregnant we didn't go on a lot of walks to waterfalls, etc, etc.

the KLUGER:

Was great, averaged 10 litres per 100 km's with windy roads and an owner that wanted to see how the right pedal felt!!

This is my first FWD car and it seemed strange under heavy acceleration (over-taking) as it really went where the steering wheel was pointing.

Very comfortable ride, limitted roll in corners.

Comfortably fitted all the gear, including 2 bikes, clothes, toys, etc.

Had a Alpine Overhead DVD installed just before trip and kids were kept well amused.

Overall, VERY HAPPY.

Anyways, that was the trip. If anyone wants any more detail feel free to ask.

do you have a screen at the front so you can watch dvd as well? I was looking at a clarion system with gps and tv add on with two extra 7" monitors for headrests.

No, have the factory double DIN at the moment, but will be looking to source a replacement for sat nav, bluetooth, etc.

Alpine DVD overhead is a stand-alone unit attached to the roof for the rear occupants and sound can be run via built in FM modulator to car radio.

Didn't look at headrest options as preferred look of the Alpine overhead system.

About 1300 km's - 2 and a bit tanks of juice.

Was a great holiday and I couldn't recommomend it enough for those that want to get away for week. One piece of advise I would give is to not rush around and maybe stay in either Port Fairy or Halls Gap for a couple of nights, expecially if you have young kids.

Glad you all liked the photos.

My wife started to get a bit jealous of me taking so many photos of the Kluger and not her.

Cheers
