It's been confirmed that the australian celicas do suffer from broken lift bolts like the american celicas. Recently two of ozcelica members had their lift bolt checked by toyota and both had broken bolts. But lift still worked on both cars.

Wondering if any of you guys have check your bolts?

Different bolts?

The Sportivos have the same engine. Unless if the diff bolts are the gen 2 camshaft lift bolts.

Hiyas,

If your warranty has expired and you are worried you can check them yourself by removing the cylindar head cover. The torque should be 13 nm on the 8 bearing caps and 23nm on the dual bearing cap beside the cam sprokets.

the engines in the celica and sportivo are actually diff, if you look at the two cars side by side you will notice that they are physicaly diff, mostly around the intake manifold, so its not a surprise that an issue that effects one car does not effect another, also the celicas are made in JP? the sportivos are made in SA, mabey they got somthing right over there...
